Ms. Thomas is enjoying a musical career that started in Edmonton 48 years ago with her debut in Gilbert and Sullivans’ “The Mikado”. Classically trained in voice, piano dance and acting, Mary has performed in the Kiwanis Music Festivals, various musical theatre productions, CKUA and CJSR radio programs, tributes at city hall, as well as freelancing for private functions such as wedding and conferences. After taking the MacEwan Music Program for Vocal performance, Mary started working with and promoting such notables as Billie Joe Green and Tilo Paez, while working towards her own original music with her bands “Feeling Mary” and “JukeJoint”. With the release of her CD “Out from The Shadows” in 2000, Ms. Thomas decided it was time to explore the Blues community where she met and started playing with Brian Petch in The Mary Thomas Band. She has headlined with her band, comprised of Brian Petch, Bill Fuhrer and Aaron “Gator” Shelemy, at such notable venues as the Blues on Whyte, Rock the Fort, and the Blues on Black festival, just to name a few. Through the years she has played with many local musicians and loves the different flavors of each musicians style on her repertoire.
